Rivals Can't Match the Way "Driving Matters" to the 2018 Mazda3

If you're an enthusiast of any tradition of art or design (or both), your heart knows better than to accept inferior knock-offs or substitutes. After all, isn't that the part of us that craves substance? If that's so, the engineers behind the 2018 Mazda3 must have a magic stethoscope that shows them how to turn a simple pulse into "zoom-zoom" feelings.

Where other compact sedans and hatchbacks have raised the bar in styling and driving dynamics, they still can't touch the way these kind of experiences matter in Mazda's popular offering. As the second model in the brand's lineup to debut their in-house developed SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, the Mazda3 sedan and hatchback boast dynamic, swooping body lines that never blend in--especially in the exclusive red paint color!

But the Mazda3 can move our Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Van Nuys drivers in other ways, too. Sport models come with a commendable and efficient 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G engine with 155 horsepower, and up to 28 mpg city and 37 mpg on the highway. The Touring and Grand Touring trims are home to a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G powerplant--this one home to 184 horsepower and efficiency figures of 27/36 mpg. Both engines can be had in automatic or six-speed manual--for those who favor increased driver engagement--and the latter is one of the most powerful in the compact class!

Where rivals from Japan, Korea, and the U.S. are catching onto the resurgence of the hatchback, the Mazda3's version has been around for longer, and is arguably the best looking. With the seats folded, it's cargo volume is competitive against the segment best. With standard features like Mazda Connect, a rear-view camera, smartphone integration--not to mention luxury items like blind-spot monitoring, heads-up display, and leather upholstery offered on range-topping models, this is a hard prospect to beat.

The true substance of the Mazda3, however, can only be experienced from behind the wheel. Here, this compact demonstrates abilities even premium-badged cars struggle to get right--balancing sporty handling with a comfortable ride, as well as agile acceleration with efficiency. If you're reading this from Alhambra or Pasadena, and that kind of performance sounds like a notion you can get behind--you may want to consider signing up to take the Mazda3 for a spin!

Cars have a way of representing our dreams as well as our day-to-day priorities, and if driving holds special meaning to you, the Mazda3 might be your match! To find out, dive a little deeper by viewing the new Mazda selections you can find at our Glendale, CA dealership, or reach out to us to set up a test drive.
